The famous Feynman Technique simplified
"There is no learning without having to pose a question. And a question requires a doubt" — Richard Feynman
Okay, This is a technique which you can use to learn. So, my question is 'Are you not learning in the right way?' huh?.. ,Yes, you may be learning correctly, but there is a chance that what you learn will not stick with you. This Feynman technique ensures that the topics which you learn through this technique will be going deep into your head.
It's enough with the introduction let us dive deep into the technique itself,
The Feynman technique has four different steps, The first one being 'Learning the concept'. In this step you are going to learn the concept as it is. You are going to read some books, refer some websites or you hear from someone... You are only scratching the surface of the concept in this step.
We are now moving on to the second step. In this step, you will teach what you learned in the previous step to a child or someone who is unfamiliar with the subject. (There is no need of finding a kid, you can just teach it to yourself). This is the most important step in the Feynman technique because when you teach a concept to a child or someone who knows nothing about the topic, the person will have too many doubts about it, and if you want to clarify this, you will need to learn the topic again and again. This is the process which differentiate the Feynman technique from others.
Once we completed the second step, We will be in need of some clarifications. So, We go back to our learning phase and re-learn the topic for clarifications. This is the third step.
Coming to the fourth step, We try to simplify our explanations and to come up with different analogies that can easily explain the topic. After this step we will be having a better and deep understanding of the topic. Optionally, you can jump to the second step again from here (If you are not satisfied with your current explanation).
The simplicity and effectiveness of this technique makes it the best way to learn. Hope it's helpful and thank you for you time.
